About Middleton Community Care
DART used to receive it's funding from various charitable trusts including Objective 1 and Big Lottery, these sources are no longer available. But DART trustees, not wishing to end the community services it provides and its numerous activities, have found a way to continue their benevolence.
DART now generate their own funds.
Using Middleton Hall as a base they will use its assets to develop several businesses ideas, under the new name, Middleton Commuinity Care.
One of those business concepts continues DART’s tradition of providing support to the community through youth programmes. A scheme to watch over and provide activities for school children between school times and home times.
Five years ago DART bought the Middleton Hall, on Barleycroft Lane, from St Leonard´s Church for £50,000. It was refurbished by volunteers and is used frequently as an affordable venue for local groups.
The Dinnington Area Regeneration Trust (DART) has enjoyed European Objective 1 and Big Lottery funding to help it deliver the town´s community action plan.
Investment was also made into IT and audio-video equipment when funding was available.
Recent funding from Coalfield Regeneration Trust and WREN have enabled us to add a new extension. This provides a new community room, a craft workshop, a music studio and storage facilities..
DART have been organising social events to help rebuild Dinnington´s social fabric after the close of the colliery. In order to continue thoses activities, DART is re-branding itself as MIDDLETON COMMUNITY CARE.
